II.                  California Clean Car Standards

Council will receive a presentation by California Resources Board staff and California Governor Schwarzenegger’s staff on California mobile source emissions programs including the CAL LEV II tailpipe emissions standards, the CO₂ tailpipe emissions standards outlined in AB 1493 and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard being developed.  State of California representatives will also discuss how these programs fit into California’s overall approach to manage air quality greenhouse gas emissions.  A representative of NESCAUM (Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management) will discuss how other states have considered the adoption of the California new car standards.
