Questions? Call the Repair Your Air
|
|||||
The Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC), the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and the Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) invite you to save money and improve the air we breathe by having your vehicle repaired through the Repair Your Air Campaign!!!
The goal of this campaign is to encourage the repair of high-polluting vehicles by offering great incentives to vehicle owners in the metro Denver area. In addition, the campaign will educate vehicle owners about the importance of vehicle maintenance, which will increase engine performance, save money, and reduce pollution so we can all breathe easier.
Those who qualify to participate in this campaign will receive a letter and campaign materials through the mail. The Campaign consists of two programs: test and repair; and test only. The test and repair program is aimed at testing and repairing those vehicles identified as being high hydrocarbon polluters. The test only program is for vehicles identified as high carbon monoxide polluters.
| "Why Me?" | "What's the problem?" | "How Can I Participate?" |
| Your vehicle may have an emissions problem that is costing you money by reducing the performance of your vehicle. Repair Your Air is a voluntary campaign that uses innovative technology - roadside remote sensing provided through Envirotest's RapidScreen Program - to identify vehicles that may have problems, which cause them to pollute. These problems may be minor, needing low-cost repairs or more extensive, requiring costly repairs. | The
Repair Your Air Campaign seeks to reduce ozone pollution, which is formed
when vehicle emissions mix with other pollutants on hot, summer
days. In the Denver metro area, operating and refueling vehicles
accounts for 35-50 percent of ozone formation. In high
concentrations, ozone pollution can cause respiratory problems in all of
us, especially the elderly, young, and those with pre-existing conditions.
In addition, the campaign will reduce carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. These vehicle pollutants also cause health problems in at-risk individuals. |
Again,
participation in the campaign is voluntary.
Call the Repair Your Air Campaign Hotline at (303) 629-5835 to sign-up to participate.
Remember there is a link between a well-maintained vehicle, fuel economy and air pollution. PLEASE HELP US REPAIR DENVER'S AIR! |
