Top Seven Things You Can Do
To Reduce Ozone Pollution

1. Maintain your vehicle - the problems that could be costing you money and causing your vehicle to pollute could be as simple as a tune-up or an oil change!
2. Check your vehicle's emission health.  Drive past Denver University's Smart Sign on the southbound exit of I-25 to southbound Speer Boulevard to have your emissions instantly and anonymously measured and visually reported as you drive by.
3. Refuel your vehicle after 5 p.m. on hot, summer days.
4. Avoid driving at lunchtime.  Walk to lunch on hot, summer days or wait to run errands after work.
5. "Put a Cap On Ozone".  Have your gas cap checked and turn your gas cap until it clicks so harmful pollutants do not leak out of your fuel tank.
6. "Stop At The Click".  Stop refueling your vehicle when the gas nozzle clicks off.  Overfilling your gas tank can cause your vehicle's pollution control equipment to malfunction and emit higher amounts of pollution.
7. Go to www.raqc.org or call the 24-hour hotline number at (303) 758-4848 to find out the daily ozone forecast for the Denver area.  If its an ozone action day, REPAIR YOUR AIR by adopting one of the above ozone-reductions strategies.
